Bad Meals for Date Night

Some nights you and your lovebird might hit the lottery and manage to have the most romantic dinner out you could imagine. Other nights things don’t quite work out so perfectly and it can depend on where you go. Some meals are good for romance, some are about as good for romance as a prepaid phone with a cat meow for a ringtone. Here’s a list of the meals you shouldn’t consider on date night!

Pho is a no

This Vietnamese soup is absolutely delicious but it’s messy, and loud. If you’re looking for a romantic dinner out, Pho is not the best option. For one, it’s hard to eat without slurping and swinging noodles and meat around. Secondly, most of the restaurants are usually pretty loud. Let me put it this way, you’re not going to have a candlelight dinner over Pho unless you make it at home.

Shellfish is for otter dates

If you want your partner to see how bad you are at cracking shells and making a general mess, then by all means crab legs and other shellfish is the way to go. Otherwise, you’re better off ordering the chicken. If you absolutely must have shellfish, get a clams or a muscle appetizer.

Burritos will lead to regret

Not only are burritos incredibly messy, they can lead to some serious stomach problems later on in the night. In general, you probably want to stay away from beans on date night. If you’re gonna do Mexican, go to a low-lit cantina where you can score some nice margaritas and sizzling fajitas.

Don’t ever order menudo

Speaking of Mexican restaurants, if you find yourself eating at one, don’t make a huge mistake and order the menudo. This is a soup made of pig’s stomach fat and intestinal juices and that’s exactly what it tastes like. Even if for some reason you like it, you can’t let your partner see or smell you eating it. Unless they’re okay having dinner with a blindfold on and clothespin latched onto their nose. And that’s not very romantic.

Avoid these meals on date night and you’ve got a fair shot at a romantic time out with your lovebird. There are plenty of delicious meals that are perfect for candle lights and wine. If you decide to risk it and try the ones on this list anyway, don’t say you haven’t been warned.
