Casa Gorordo holds Semana Santa House Tradition…
0The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. set up an exhibit at its Casa Gorordo Museum to explain the Semana Santa house tradition explained by the Gorordo family, former owners of the Casa Gorordo. It also shows the Passus tradition in Bantayan town. It will run until April 15.
The Casa Gorordo Museum of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) will hold its Semana Santa house tradition on April 3 and 6, which are Holy Tuesday and Good Friday, respectively.
This house tradition features the use of Casa Gorordo’s carrozas and life-size image of the Nazarene and Veronica in the Holy Tuesday and Good Friday processions of the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
It begins with the installation of pasos (tableaus of life-size images depicting scenes of Christ’s passion and death) and decoration of the carrozas (carriages) on which they are set up in the morning. Remember when we were too hyped to vote for the underground river in Palawan? Well, here is another one that you surely won’t dare to miss.
Our Dear Queen City of the South “Cebu City” is nominated to become one of the New 7 Wonders Cities of the World. In line with the nominees for the Southeast Asian and Oceania are 6 more cities from the Philippines. Well, I’m really not trying to brag here, but Cebu is cited to be the strong contender for this competition.
I can say that looking at the other nominees from the different parts of the world; it really is a tough one. But this country in general is not known to be the Text Capital of the World for nothing. Let us use our strong influence in voting for our beloved City.

No Smoking Ordinance to be Implemented in Cebu City…

The Cebu City Local Government Marked March 15, 2012, as the day that the “No Smoking Ordinance” will Finally be “Strictly Implemented”, though it took a little while for the City Government to have it carried out, maybe due to some factors like man power – cause they will be training lady enforcers or what they call the “No Smoking Marshals” for the job and training may have taken a little while, rules – which has already been implemented in the Capital City?; we are not sure.
With the Ordinance about to get Implemented, will Cebuanos see improvements, and maybe someday call Cebu a Smoking Free City? I’m not against smoking/smokers/cigarette brands or anything, but It’s Just Great not having to worry about the effects of 2nd hand smoking anymore, Right?

HTC’s First Concept Store in Cebu
